Spring athletics bloom with success! Now that the temperatures have warmed up and all teams are now able to play, we have seen some great success on the fields and courts!

Badminton has had some challenging tournaments at Willowbrook, New Trier and Lockport this season. The girls are playing well and will celebrate their Senior Night tomorrow night against Glenbard East, starting at 4:30. Their conference meet will be held at East Aurora on April 28 and April 30th. Come check them out!

Girls Soccer has been our diehards and has played in the rain & snow this season. They currently have a 5-6 record and had the opportunity to play in the Pepsico Showdown Tournament and get involved with all the local media coverage of this huge event! They have numerous home games remaining in their season-good luck!!

Boys Baseball, along with our spring weather, is warming up! They have a current record of 3-6-1 with many home games to come! Their next home games are Thursday at 4:30 vs. Glenbard East and Saturday at 10:00 vs. Streamwood.

Girls Softball is burning up the fields with a 9-1 record so far this season! Cara Jimenez recently broke the career home run record with 11 homers so far this season. Hannah Beatus recently had 12 strikeouts against Geneva. Because of the outstanding success of so many Blackhawk players, the team is currently ranked #4 in the Daily Herald Top 20 rankings. The girls have their next home game on Wednesday April 27 at 4:30 vs. Bartlett.

Boys Tennis hits the courts with a current record of 2-2. They host the Blackhawk Varsity Tournament on Saturday April 30 at 8:30 AM, held at both WAHS and Washington MS courts.

Track & Field have had some great successes this season. The girls took first place at the Hononegah Invite and conclude their home season on Thursday April 21 at 4:30 by hosting an invitational. The boys took first place in the John Bell Invitational in both the varsity and frosh/soph levels. Distance runner Connor McCue has been shattering school records this season. He broke the 800 school record with a time of 1:53.0 in the John Bell Invitational. He competed at the Arcadia Invitational outside of Los Angeles, CA and broke the school record for the mile with a time of 4:13.4 and made West Aurora proud.

Boys Lacrosse took 2nd place at the West Chicago Tournament this year. They currently have an undefeated record! The IHSA just announced that lacrosse will have a state series starting with the 2018 season. We look forward to a great future for lacrosse at West Aurora.

Congratulations to all sports so far this season and we look forward to more success at the end of the season!
